The department of Mechanical engineering was established in the year 2009.the department offers four year degree program with intake 60 students .in 2010 the intake increase to 120 students by the demand occurred in and around bhimavaram to gvit college due to well established with high quality infrastructure.

The department conducting different tecqunics for teaching to reach the students and conducting different activities with student association established by the first batch and department conducting different faculty improvement programs and workshop through iit Bombay remote center situated in gvit campus. department conducting different guest lectures for various subjects with very experienced faculty.

      Mechanical Engineering is the most versatile and fundamental branch of Engineering comprising Production, Thermal and Design streams. Increasing competition, changing economic scenario and complex technological breakthrough has widened the scope of the Mechanical branch of Engineering. Due to continued changes in technology manufacturing methodologies, the students learn and use state of the art machines and methodologies to keep pace with the modern world.
